Prem baby goes from strength to strength

The premature baby (born before 34 weeks) who features in this blog, came back to the clinic today for follow up. Excellent weight gain, but slightly high bilirubin level. This is common in premature babies, but just in case he was brewing up an infection, the nurses had ordered a urine test.

Now babies don’t pee to order, so the couple were taking turns holding a plastic resealable bag over his willie to catch any urine. Understandably, I didn’t take a photograph of them this time. Urine test was clear, he’s fine.

  1. Fantastic, uplifting news and no, they don’t pee to order (usually wait ’til your changing them).
