Well, Leicester City Football Club finally did it. The Blue Army can now boast that their team is the Champion of the Premier League for the first time in the club’s history. Now, here in Zambia, I am seeing the fair-weather supporters coming out of the woodwork. Like this chap, who has switched allegiance from Arsenal, Man U/City, or Liverpool. Apostasy.

But let us not forget Adelaide United FC who have also done extremely well this year. Congratulations to my readers in South Australia, especially the Paterson family. This little boy had no idea that AUFC have been crowned champions this season.

There are other champions here in Zambia. The owner of this tee shirt is a champion against defaecating in the bush. He is obviously not a Chicago Bears fan.

And finally, the ignominy of defeat. Wrapped in a Chelsea cloak, this little boy observes the barber in the mirror. This is what happens with a mid-table finish; supporters shave their heads in penance. Just as Mandla Moyo in Matsapha Comprehensive Health Care Clinic has been doing all season long.

  1. Hi Ian, a truly wonderful weekend. Leicester from nowhere. Adelaide, stone motherless last after eight rounds end up with the premiers plate and then win the Grand Final. The world game is truly the world game. Love keeping up with the adventures in the South Luangwa. It is now only three months until we are there. Keep on blogging. Georgina and Chris love following your stories.
