Indians love having their photograph taken next to their gods. Actors apply makeup and costume to become Krishna, Hanuman or Rama. Unfortunately, they charge foreigners exorbitant amounts of money for photographs, so I have just snapped a few candid pictures.


Wrestling is a traditional sport in India. A female wrestler won a silver medal at the Rio Olympics. These two men are showing that they can get inside a metal hoop. I am not sure of the significance of this, but it looks tricky.


Kachi Ghodi dancing involves a man wearing a horse costume. It is a traditional dance which has its roots in Shekhawati banditry in Rajasthan. The dances portray stylised clashes between travelling merchants and dacoits, with colourful clothing and traditional music.

The biggest acts at the show went on the large screen. Lots of ladies in swirling saris and men dressed as rajahs belting out songs with gusto.


Finally, it is time to go home, parading these colourful banners.
